Ehhhhh, not sitting right with me. It just doesn’t hit me the way a clear Game Boy shell does for some reason.
I think I read a Super Famicom transparent case is coming. I wonder if he’ll offer a smoke black version as he did with the PCE cases.
Yeah, a smoke black shell would be pretty rad. Or even a clear one that isn’t crystal clear like you see on GBA cases.
There have been replacement shells for Dreamcast, PS1, PS2 and most handhelds for years, and Saturn for a couple of years on ebay/Aliexpress. Only a matter of time before pretty much every console gets them IMO.
I had a blue Dreamcast for like 10 years before I sold it, will plan to replace with maybe one of the Code Veronica knockoff ones now, for something different.
Someone needs to start making controller shells too…
Yeah, I’ve been in the market for one of the cool PS1 shells but they’re actually harder to come by than you’d think. Last time I looked there wasn’t a good source.
But yeah, seems like if someone had the money to invest upfront on the molds they could make some money in the long run doing these replacement cases for all kinds of consoles. There’s been a thriving market there for handhelds for years.
Roarke84694999 on twitter has been making NES shells:
Appears to be out of stock on his store:

Tweeted that Dreamcast is in the works (couple replies down):
Is Ganbare Goemon 2 pretty easy to get through without the ability to read Japanese? Finally got really into the first, and while I’ve got the two N64 titles to get into, I really want to see what the rest of the SNES games can do.
This area alone has such an amazing set of bgm
It’s easy to get through without a translation, the 3rd & 4th games not so much. If you have a flash cart they have very good translation patches avaialble, the SRAM save patch for the first game instead of that ridiculous password system is a great convience too!
I hope you know the cable on those is about 1 meter at most.
Yep, it’s true, but now I can move the SNES closer to me and put another console in another place(where the SNES originally was) to have it out so it works well for that, plus there are extension cables to help with length.
Take care on the extension cables. I bought some from Aliexpress for the Mega Dive which always lost connection. Bloody awful they were. Wish I paid a little extra for better ones.
Played some Operation Logic Bomb (Ikari no Yōsai) last night. That is truly an underrated classic on the SNES. I think it’s aged extremely well. I recently picked up a US cart for $12.99, a fantastic price, for a mint cart (only). It’s available on the Switch Online service if you have that. Highly recommended and really glad I have it in my collection finally. Jaleco didn’t make a lot of great games, but this one’s definitely among their best along with the Brawl Brothers/Rushing Beat line of beat 'em ups on SNES.
Ikari no Yōsai is a classic. Loved it back in the day and still love it now.
It does have that cheap Jelaco smell about it but I’d say it’s at least worth a look for anyone who has never played it.
I came across these PAL/SFC cart cases on ebay earlier, they look like a good option to replace the boxes I’m currently using.
I’ve ordered one of the white ones so I can check the quality before ordering more.
These look cool, do you have a link?
Nice one
The case I ordered arrived today, I’m very impressed with it, the cart fits snugly inside without rattling & the quality seems excellent.
Definitely going to order some more of these.
Those look real good. Is there a NA cart version of them?
