This is the wiring setup I use for ps2.
Yes, thereās two quite distinct pathways for the dvi connector. If you select PC as an input source, it behaves like any regular monitor, and takes the input and puts it directly to the panel scaler/driver chip. So both vga, dvi/hdmi input at 480p in this mode just get framebuffered and displayed, with the 16ms/1frame input to display lag. Component als works in this mode, but its picky about the input signal. If you select the hd input in the input menu, all these same signals, dvi/vga/component get routed through the scaler chip. You can immediately tell switching between the two.
Please inform me of the results when you return for testing.
Sadly itās not for a while, many months
Do you use the HD or PC mode of the 4121? Mine only works with the Wii in HD mode of the 4121, which does not produce a good image. Perhaps there is a difference in the adapter you are using. So far, I can confirm Mattās experiences. With the GBS-Control in passthrough and PC mode, the image was pixel-perfect and crisp.
for ps2 I use hd mode, there is no way around it given the resolutions and video signal it outputs. Wii is a different matter as will actually create a proper 640 active line output. I donāt use the direct component output for wii and havenāt tried it tbh as I dont have a component cable for that system. My current setup uses a cheap wii hdmi converter, which outputs 480p. canāt use the direct dvi input for that as I believe it uses the YCrCb 4:2:2 color encoding without using the proper infoframes. either way, the philips doesnt like it. Iām using a hdmi to vga dongle/dac and taking the analog pathway for the time being until I get an internal hdmi mod at some point.
