I’ve had one for about a year now. Love it. Works every game I’ve thrown at it. Well, apart from the MPEG games but that’s okay because I have the originals of those.
Just finished Serious Sam 4 on PC. Incredible how they’ve managed to make the same game for over 20 years and they’re still fun. The visuals are fantastic, the levels are monstrous, and it’s just great fun all the way through.
Amazing.
I’m going for all Platinum medals on GTi Club Supermini Festa (Wii). Currently at 55/75
Warzone hit two years yesterday so I played that again. Enjoying the good times in Iron Trials on Rebirth Island. I still feel like this game is awesome two years later. We’ve had it really good in Battle Royale.
absolutely loving this thing, need one fore PSX soon. i think in the hunt was the first game that didn’t work for me, i’m gonna try another copy of that one - everything else has been just flawless. multi disc games even have their own files so it looks like no issues there, plus my friend swears there’s a segata sanshiro skin for the OS that i need in my life
The Saturn version of In the Hunt has issues on disc too. It doesn’t boot on a lot of models of the hardware due to some sort of bug.
ahh that explains it! i swear i’ve played some working copy on this system though, might just rip from that disc and try again
If I recall correctly, the way to get the game to boot is to enter the CD player screen, insert the disc and boot from there.
Still mostly uncovering new gems on handhelds with the Analogue Pocket’s sleep mode feature sort of being a game changer for being able to get through titles while travelling.
I’ve picked up both GB Gensan games from Irem and hope to play them soon.
Just got a Satiator and started playing through Grandia on SEGA Saturn with the latest translation patch. This game is pretty cool so far. I really like the way the camera zooms and pans during some scenes.
The English translation patch also seems very high quality. It’s genuinely amazing how far these patches have come since the 90s. They were still appreciated then, but now they feel like professional products.
Back then, they felt more “hacked” onto the game where you can still see the seams between the original and the patch. And it also feels like the translations themselves are of higher quality these days too. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if this particular one was lifted wholesale from Working Design’s PS1 version.
It truly is amazing how far the scene has come - I am able to play this on real hardware without any hardware mods. Just nuts.
