Wondermega RGM1 Power jack on PCB

I need to replace the power jack on my Wondermega RGM1. Where can I find it? The AC adaptor required 1.5A

You want to measure the diameter and depth of the barrel. Plus polarity of the pin.

Please check these:

  • 5.5mm outer diameter (OD)
  • 2.1mm inner diameter (ID)
  • Centre positive (perhaps only required for the wall power adaptor)

Compatibility with Mega Drive 2: Some sources suggest that the Wondermega RG-M1 uses a similar power socket to the Sega Mega Drive 2. The Mega Drive 2 commonly uses a 5.5mm x 2.1mm DC barrel jack.

Adapter specs (opposite of the plug in some ways) are on this page Power Supply for Sega / Victor Wondermega

In Japanese it’s called a DCジャック (DC jack)
In English I call it a barrel connector.

You want a through-hole component.

Something like this (not sure)

Yes, it’s similar with a DC jack of the Megadrive 2. (Sometimes In the past used an AC adaptor Megadrive 2 to test a Wondermega…).
I found this: Sega Genesis 2, 3, Nomad, CDX, Replacement PCB Mount DC Power Jack | eBay

But the 3 pins of the power jack MD2 are not the same and I can’t install on the PCB Wondermega

Yeah, I see. Then the task is really finding the suitable pin layout on a connector. I’m not sure how to go about that other than brute force search 'em all.

Maybe is this:

@matt Gave good advice above. The main thing to consider is you’ll need to match the footprint that is on the circuit board. The one you linked looks close.

IF worse comes to worse you could always bubba something. I don’t suggest that. I’d try to find a compatible part. But you could always run bodge wires to the through holes on the board and just hot glue an otherwise compatible jack to the circuit board.

For individual components like this I usually look on the following electronics supply websites.

The RGM1 is a super challenging piece of hardware to work on. Stick with it and you’ll get it. Has this console ever run for you in the past? Good luck!
