Also interesting that they are shipping replacements as such to avoid costs for the customer. Yet they still ship the first time with insane costs?

Yikes indeed - I thought the same thing too… what’s actually wrong with it? They don’t really give any detail.
It’ll be interesting to see what method of shipping they use for replacements… imagine paying $90 to ship a replacement to NZ… maybe they’ll be motivated to find an alternative?

It has to be whatever tells the Mega Sg to boot into GG mode for carts because they said if it gets damaged then it won’t work with any GG adapter.
They have so much room in their shipping that they won’t lose anything on that deal.

Analogue put up then took down the final run Nt mini preorder page today. Hope anyone that wanted one doesn’t mind paying the extra $50 for a black one.

No. It’s not been put up for sale yet. That was scraped off their site. They have already said they will post ahead of time when they plan to put them up for sale on Twitter before they actually do to prepare people who want to order.
This was always the case about the black one (thats the one I have).

Lordy, that’s still a lot of money. I was hoping they’d go a little closer to the most recent product price points, but I also understand there will be great demand so they’d be foolish not to capitalize on that.
Your only hope is that the “Analogue 8” is a stripped down version in a plastic shell, HDMI-only like their other consoles and you need the DAC for analog, no Famicom slot and instead you have to use an adapter, etc.
I honestly don’t have the extra scratch laying around and, like most here, I truly prefer original hardware on CRT but I feel almost compelled to grab one of these things. The resale alone makes it worth it. You can essentially get paid to have it your house and mess around with it for awhile even if you don’t want to keep it. But if were to keep it for my main living room setup, it’s a hell of a luxe device and conversation starter. And I get to have all that retro goodness on my plasma TV (eventually an OLED within the next two years)…

Do they charge you right away? I seem to remember it working like that with Super Nt?
I had the same hope. I’m not an economist but I think they could have sold more that way. Perhaps they have another model entirely based on that philosophy coming, and this was just a way to further tap the higher end market now that they’re more established.

This may be the last run of the Nt Mini, but I’d bet real money they put out an NES compatible version at the more reasonable price point within a year or two. This is to stoke the fire IMO.
