They’ve given reason to doubt they’re on track to deliver in Feb. I recall the NT Mini launch being on time and going smoothly. The long delays and build problems seem to have been left behind with the original NT.
Excellent. It felt like the whole menu reveal proved that they have something working and complete. Manufacturing is always the biggest part of this, though, assuming they’re not hand building each one?
It would be cool if they would pin it down a little more. They’d probably get more pre-orders that way.
Theyve actually stated just a week ago on twitter that the consoles will be shipped out in their entirety over the course of three days in Feb. Doesn’t seem like there’s any worry for delay.
Woohoo! Time to start looking for SNES games locally.
Nothing is being hand built. Everything is being built in a regular electronics factory in China, with supervision by Analogue (because if you don’t have boots on the ground with a new product over there, the first run is going to get messed up and need reworking).
Super! This is great information and stuff I think they should kinda let you know. I have looked around the web site but maybe I just missed it?
They have my order and I’ve preordered one of the wireless gamepads too. Looking forward to it!
Stuff pops up on Twitter and on the Atari Age FPGA thread and I have a good recollection.
Oh man, good luck. So much of what’s out there has been picked over.
I just sent a package from Los Angeles to Los Angeles 4 lbs maybe 10 x 10 x 6 and it was $14. No insurance added.
Their shipping is totally fine.
Where can I buy an RGB scart cable for the mini? I’m in the UK.
https://retro-access.com is where I got mine.
I didn’t see any on https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/ yet. Might have to import.
Ah, thanks!
Hm. Out of stock there too, and I’d rather not import…
I’ll just go to maplin later and buy the parts to make my own. I already have an svga connector and hood so I just need a length of cable and a scart plug. £5 or so max. Won’t need power for switching or audio in it, so it’ll be easy.
Ha! You need to come visit Central Pennsylvania. We have multiple retro stores in the area and while they certainly will charge unreasonable prices for some games, they have a wide selection of very affordable titles, too. Just Press Play, with four locations in Lancaster and York, and Complete In Box in Ephrata are phenomenal stores loaded with classics.

There are a handful of stores in the Philly area too like Classic Game Junkie, Game Fixx, Jay Street Video Games and more. Classic Game Junkie especially has a TON of SNES and Super Famicom stuff.

I mean, these places have so much stock that I basically treat them like going to a Gamestop of the era. The only difference is that everything is used. They get new stock in all the time from people trading, too.
I have a number of SNES games already, but there are still a bunch I’d like to have for the Super Nt so I’ll be shopping.
Awesome! You’re lucky. I live in Missouri and while we used to have some decent stores here, they have mostly dried up. I can still find plenty of games from the PS2 era to now in the stores that do exist, but the shelf space for cartridges is tiny and full of shitty sports games and common crap.
All of the retro stores in NYC I’ve visited feel like total ripoffs. It’s very hard to get a good deal on an old game these days.
Seriously guys, check out the pictures from those sites. You’ll flip. Just Press Play and Complete in Box specifically are phenomenal and CiB is expanding again at the end of the month. They do independent games stores very well, mainly because they still sell new current stuff too.
Complete in Box was one of the stores featured in the Polygon article about Independent stores recently.
That was a great story, thanks for sharing. I’ve been to Trade N Games in Fenton (St Louis) many times.
Interesting. I would like to know whatever it is.
So, pretty much confirmed then it seems like.
The advantage to me for the Super NT is the HDMI out. I can already play my og SNES via RGB on my CRT.
