He also sells an adapter to use the Wii component cables with this if that’s what you want to use instead of a SNES SCART cable. Only works with the GCDual.
Very interested as well. But at the price point of all the differing GCVideo projects you end up around the cost of an official component cable once all is said and done.
Not that I have any CRT that can do 480p in the YPbPr colour-space. RGBHV 480p would be preferable for me or at least a way to get 480i RGBS out of my NTSC Gamecubes, just not at these prices…
I can’t wait for the Wii version of this. I think that would have way more utility for me. The GC is a system I only keep plugged in because of the GBA (I ripped all my games to the Wii so its so much easier to enjoy). Once there is a good solution for GBA to CRT I will be happy to put the Cube back in its box.
Yeah I’m interested in the Wii version as well but I have a 6-layer Wii which is incompatible so I’d need to find a cheap 4-layer one at a garage sale if I wanted to do it.
Neat for those who are interested, particularly now that there’s finally a good Wii solution. Pre OSSC I would have been interested as well, but 480p line doubled looks pretty good, even for GCN games on the Wii.
I ended up ordering one of these. I’m still relatively new to soldering so I’ll probably end up doing this mod a little bit down the road. I’ll keep you guys posted on how it goes.
