MiSTer FPGA - OT

I’d be interested to see how the later 60fps release of Ridge Racer renders the same scene (and at hi-res, too!)

Ask and thou shalt receive.

Cool!

But I meant as the animation of it drawing the scene.

(I’d like the moon on a stick)

yeah… I’m not ready to go full debugger and stop through the code with screen recording at this point in time

I love that Ridge Racer is used as a showcase for this. It kind of looks like there’s less texture warping than real hardware? Not that I’m complaining as I would love that to be an option, to remove the wobble.

Surely it’s still a long way off but I hope there are no barriers to it becoming a reality on the de10nano.

Looks the same, check out the spectator stands at the start of the race, a complete zig zag mess as they should be!

Ah yes, it’s obvious there. Ridge 1 holds up better than I remember haha

Pretty cool option if people want to go the iPad screen route. I think I’d probably go the VESA route for easy TATE mode. (VESA version announced but not listed yet)

I think these are very cool, wish it had a flat side for tate.

The CRT one is the only one listed right now, but the description describes a slim and vesa version. The vesa one could be attached to a rotatable stand ($30). That’s the route I would go if I went the iPad screen route. It currently falls into the “want but don’t need” category for me lol.

I continue to be amazed my MiSTer even if I have the original hardware for all the cores I play regularly.

V looking forward to PS1 and potentially Saturn

PS1 will be an absolute milestone in my opinion.

The only place I use real hardware now is DOS and 6th Gen. The MiSTer is my go-to now for anything 8 or 16-bit (unless I need to stream or play online with friends), so the only console emulation I do these days is for PS1, Saturn, and just occasionally N64.

If MiSTer can run PS1 and maybe Saturn then it will become pretty much my all-in-one solution. I’d assume this would also be true for most other folks emulating on a Pi or something similar.

good thing my Xstation ps1 is on the way :grimacing:

Ended up pre-ordering the Fenrir 21-pin version for my Saturn. Doesn’t look like the MiSTer will be getting a Saturn core too soon so I figured I’d bite! Still holding off for any PS1 mods though since I think that will come sooner.

As an aside, does anyone know the best way to apply a design to ABS? I am trying to finish up a case for MiSTer that I hacked up from an old APC UPS and I would like to apply some vector logos to it on the front and sides.

I am thinking either a transfer sticker (I’d have to send off for that and I can only find places that do it in black or white rather than color) or stencil for painting (which seems easy to mess up). I also considered a clear sticker then a few clear coats but I’m not sure how that would turn out.

left this on my thread but figured people in here would enjoy it

Great video!

Does this SNES/SFC core play the following two games?

Yes, both boot and are playable. I didn’t test them extensively but they work (didn’t have sound on due to the dog whistle for children, lol). No reason to assume sound doesn’t work though. I can test it out later if you want.

Interesting. The Analog NT doesn’t play them. Graphics corruption during golfing part of game.

I only took one shot in each game, but I didn’t notice any issues.
