I fucking love it. So crisp. Timeless too.

I dropped my 20" D-series while bringing it to a friend’s house and cracked the bezel right where the “D-Series” Logo is. Seeing one in such pristine shape like this brings a tear to my eye!

Well, a promise is a promise - here is an update to my game room after ~1.5yrs on and a lot of organizing. Enjoy,

Love that closet @cubedojo!
I also store my games in a spare walk-in closet, though I’ve run out of space years ago. Yours seems very spacious and well organized, great work!

Looks great! I like the clean look from the Kallax and drona combo. Great selection of games as well as I see several STGs. :grinning:

I actually just moved into a condo and have a similar closet setup. I’ll post pics once it is finished.

The most misunderstood console; One of these days I’ll give it the focus it deserves (instead of tucked away lol).

Thank you for the kind words everyone.

I remember reading about the hype and thinking it might pull it off. I think it was the lack of dev kit costs or publishing fees or something and that felt like it would shake things up. Still kind of looks interesting though, the console especially, nothing remarkable but the size and curved ‘corners’ are neat.

Forgot to post this ages ago. A little homemade Pop’N Music set-up. Does the job!

Is there a logic to the orbs

Those controllers are really nice, I have a fried who is into Bemani and ordered one a few years ago!

It’s almost like oversized piano keys. Basic songs only use the bottom keys, while more advanced use all of them. Popn is one of the harder Bemani games despite its childish design features.

It’s kinda like guitar hero. You have notes/beats falling represented by these sandwiched orbs. They are color coded, with a white center area, and their placement on the field roughly syncs up with their placement on the control panel. They drop from the top of the screen towards a red line at the bottom. As the orbs pass the bottom you hit the corresponding button, ideally when the center white area of the sandwich is on the line.

The timing is kind of funky but it doesn’t take too long to get into the groove of it. You can play 5-button, where only the 5 center buttons are used, or 9-button where you use the entire control panel. 9 button is exponentially more difficult than 5 button.
I suck at it, but I enjoy it.

Finished collecting the PS2 releases earlier this year:

It’s pretty awesome! One neat thing is that there are LEDs under the big buttons. In addition to a ps2 plug the controller has two usb plugs coming out of it. One provided power to the LEDs which turn on as you activate a button, like in the arcade. The other USB plugs also allows it to be plugged into a PC, but I’ve stuck to PS2.
