I’m really happy to have found a complete copy of Cotton 2 with the launch bonus calendar included. Looking forward to playing it tonight!

Haven’t seen this in Japan before and i think i got it a fair bit cheaper than it ought to be! I think my N64 Star Wars collection is complete now, though wasnt there a Naboo game? I don’t have that but im just gonna not count it either way

Wow, the Japan-exclusive boxart is looking great there.

I think there were two episode 1 games on the N64: Episode 1 Racer and Battle for Naboo. The latter is definitely worth picking up, since it’s also by Factor 5 and (From what I remember) offers more variety with ground-based missions.

Racer is a great game, i have fond memories of losing a competition to a child thanks to rubber band/catchup grrr! I’ll have to see if Battle for Naboo came out over here, cause it was a late release I’m not sure.

I’m really excited because I picked up a boxed Japanese Saturn alongside Cotton 2 (got some other games on the way). Happy that the unit and controller received minimal yellowing over the years. The white memory pak has some on top though.

So far I’ve only changed the internal battery, since I’ll be using the 4MB expansion pak with Cotton 2 - so saving to the memory pak will be asynchronous.

Your Saturn looks mint. Where did you buy it ?
I have a Grey MK1 but have always been on the lookout for a non yellowed White MK2…

Cheers! I’m really chuffed it and the controller don’t have any yellowing.

I bought it from an eBay seller. I was originally going to go for this listing (which ended over the weekend without a single bid!). It looks almost unopened and it’s been relisted - you should go for it!

The one I did go for is the last MK2 revision I think, going from the box.

Congrats! I don’t even see a hint of discoloration. :grinning:

Literally nodding with approval at how mint that is. Nice.

Thanks folks! It’s all good - even the cartridge slot isn’t as bad as I expected. After using some isopropyl on the connectors of the 4MB RAM expansion it started working, so it seems the cart was the problem. Should probably do the same with my memory paks, since they weren’t all that reliable either.

Looking forward to these! I’ve only played the two PlayStation Cave-developed Touge games (Max G and Max 2) so these should be interesting!

The second one on Saturn is pretty nice looking. Unfortunately I always felt the controls ruined those games. The best looking and playing one is called Code R. Sadly it’s also quite expensive and hard to understand the Japanese story sections.

Yeah, the handling is certainly iffy in an unpredictable and unfathomable way. I wonder if a certain car setup is required to bring it under control. Maybe the Saturn Wheel improves things.

I got this awesome compilation of Darius games for the Switch. I think I only ever played the most recent one: Dariusburst, so this is all pretty new for me. Also on first glance, these games are very, very hard!

Also this book I have been waiting for just came in!

Oh, how is it? I’ve been eying those bitmap books.

I love the Bitmap books. They’re high quality books with great written content and printed on high quality paper. I joined the Kickstarter for this one after I bough the NES and SNES books last year. Their Neo Geo book is great as well, but not part of the visual compendium series.

Finally got Gigawing, a game that I love and one of the STG that I can actually 1CC. Got lucky because it came with some other shitty JP D.C. games (Evolution 1 and Incoming) for $20 shipped. I guess the guy/gal didn’t knew it’s current value.

And of course, when I pushed the BUY NOW button, 5 minutes later I found out that my D.C. Is dead again. Figures.

Good choice on the Darius Cozmic Collection. Darius Gaiden is one of my favorites. Awesome graphics and gameplay, and an excellent soundtrack as well. It’s not as punishing difficulty-wise as Darius and Darius 2. Hope you enjoy the collection, it’s excellent all around.

I will also back what @Bastia said in their praise of Bitmap. They make good stuff and ship it well. I worry less about getting something from them across the sea than I do about amazon in my state.

Real disappointed that their US expansion ended up being a bust.

Yeah, Darius Gaiden seems to be the best one of the bunch. The music is… is… odd, but appealing.
