R-Type Delta is one of my favorites on the PS1. Also can’t go wrong on Neo Geo games
All that N64 stuff for $40? Amazing deal, grats! Although I will admit to not liking the N64 that much and being much more jealous of your GBC pickups with Metal Gear Solid and Shadowgate.
Incredible deal, nice find!
I’ll keep that in mind, will probably only play it when I’ve got less on my plate - would feel bad about not giving it the attention it needs to learn its mechanics.
Not all but I think most working designs had variants to them. I think the anything that was single disk got a variant from what I remember except that weird tank game on PS2.
Edit: Nvm, they all seem to have variants. I never knew alundra had so many.
My latest gaming pick-ups.
Airforce Delta Storm is nice! Well if you can stomach the padding that is.
I got an insane deal on the n64 stuff. I was at a yard sale and I saw the aftermarket controller in a tub that was filled with toys. At first I thought it was going to be one of those crappy plug in play games. But as I kept digging I started finding all the other n64 controllers. I dug some more and started finding the games. I asked how much they wanted for the nintendo and they said $10. I didn’t even bother to look through the games. I threw it all in a bag and handed them the money. Didn’t even realize the amount of high end games until I got to my car.
Also picked up a cheap raspberry pi kit and a trackball. Going to make a mini arcade setup
Nice, my favourite (due to access when I was younger) was Donkey Kong Jr. There was a good port of it on DSi Ware so I’ve never felt the need to buy the real thing however.
Bought some old and new stuff recently. Also in this video I out a bad seller on Aliexpress. Don’t buy from this store. Reason explained in the video.
Yeah it’s neat and helps make space for more games on my PS1 shelves. Also have a condensed Brave Fencer Musashi as well, no bonus disk so no need for the double disc case.
Picked up a PSP 3000 in nice shape for $40, which I thought was a total steal. They also had the Final Fantasy games for $3 each.
I then found a rough PSP 1000 that has a nice battery, and everything else works for $15. I’ll use the battery and the UMD drive to fix my original 1000 model that’s in perfect condition otherwise.
Picked up some more Saturn games I’ve really wanted to try for the first time! There’s Parodius da! which @Addicted recommended. And then Saturn Bomberman (which has a beautifully hand illustrated manual as was the standard from Hudson Soft at the time), Zoku Gussun Oyoyo which reminds me of Tetris Plus’ puzzle mode, and Drift King ‘97 looks like a safe arcade racer pick.
Okay maybe I’m not going to be trying Tetris Plus for the first time. This is my fourth copy of the game! But I am looking forward to seeing how the Saturn port compares with the PS and GB versions. Particularly with the original music turned on - on PS it’s redbook audio and thus the audio restarts every time the tempo changes. On GB it’s off the sound chip so it behaves like the arcade.
For 12 dollars that’s a great buy.
Just got a CIB Rock N Roll Racing at a game expo here in Glasgow, Scotland. Probably overpriced given it’s an import but I attempted to haggle and got £10 knocked off the price. I’m pretty chuffed as the box is well-taken care of and its got its manual and all its inserts
I picked up the two DS Advance Wars games at my local Mega Replay. It’s been years since I played the series, and I forgot how much charm these games had. I’d love to see this series make a return, kind of like how Fire Emblem had a resurgence. Tiny Metal comes close, but Advance Wars for Switch would be a day one purchase for me.
Advance Wars is a great series, although some of that charm is lost with Days of Ruin as it took a more “mature”, dark turn. I’d love to see a new game on Switch, too… But if Intelligent Systems is going to model it after the Fire Emblem comeback, I’d prefer they didn’t lean so much into the waifu stuff.
