1 coin PC and many more gaming pickups plus YOUR buys as well!
got Ikaruga Metal Earth Edition, really happy with it as I’ve always wanted a physical copy of the game
Picked this up while thrifting this week. Arguably the worst 8bit micro ever released for mainstream consumers.
Grabbed a couple of silly things
The Metal Gear Worlds of Power book. Nicely matching PAL AU versions, though it wasn’t by ‘Ultragames’ over here.
And I’d been meaning to get the SeHa girls Sega Saturn Nendoroid for years. I don’t have room on the Saturn shelves right now so it goes with Asha on the Mega Drive shelf.
Picked up (another) Atari STE locally for a very cheap price. It’s got some yellowing but is otherwise in immaculate condition.
New PCB day is best day.
And it certainly has been awhile since the last one. Got lucky enough to pick this up locally for a decent price, much less than the current asking price. I’m going to enjoy sinking my teeth into this one.
My impulse buy PC Engine Interface unit arrived!
Works perfectly. I was going to RGB mod it but maybe I’ll leave it stock for use with the AG500. I was going to peroxide it but now I’m torn because the grimy look really suits this aesthetic.
Can pop on the real Blade Runner between Snatcher sessions with this setup too.
Enjoy Super Mario Bros Wonder. I wasn’t feeling it in the first world or two but it definitely picks up when you get into the middle sections of the game. It’s a very fun Mario game as long as you’re not expecting anything revolutionary. The animations are delightful too.
Got a bonus at work and went a bit silly. Paid out the nose but happy to finally have one. I adore it as a piece of hardware. It’s ridiculous in all the right ways.
Is that new old stock?
Yep - kind of wild there are still some of these sealed and in Australia of all places. Shipping here is prohibitive from Analogue ($100 AUD) so all of their products are pretty rare here.
The only thing I’m disappointed with is the included 8bitdo 2.4ghz controller. The button feel is terrible. The membrane on d-pad is so clicky it feels like you’re fighting to keep it held down.
No new PCB today ;(
But did get some arcade related gear.
First off, a couple of Reco PCBs, perhaps the most comprehensive autofire circuit for arcade use.
Second, I got this JAMMA splitter, custom made by a good friend here in Mexico. Basically takes audio and video out of your arcade cab in order to feed it to a capture card / scaler / monitor.
This Kunio/Double Dragon revival is getting out of hand… And I haven’t even received my River City Girls 2 yet, and I missed out on Melee Mach!
Someone’s hot a hard on for Double Dragon and Technos inspired games
Missing Double Dragon Gaiden too, but that looks like butt, will wait for get it for peanuts.
Of the newer releases, is there a ‘best’ one? I haven’t played any Kunio games in a couple years, thinking of getting one.
Double Dragon on NES was the first NES game I played way back in the day at my friend’s house. It was the first time I saw an NES too.
