RGB Pick Up Thread Of Swag!

River City Girls is very good. Probably your best bet. Still waiting on my RCG2.

I haven’t played Three Kingdoms yet. Double Dragon IV is… kinda rough but playable.

Depending on your definition of ‘new’ Rival Showdown is good, but it’s a 3DS port. I probably preferred Tokyo Rumble on 3DS, though RS is fancier. Neon isn’t my favourite and is also a decade old.

Then all the rest of the stuff here is old games or collections of old games. The Kunio bundle is superb though, as all the Japanese games have been translated. DD Collection is bare bones but has Returns and Advance which are great games.

Cool, thanks. River City Girls would probably fit as the last one I played was a translation patch of Shin Nekketsu Kōha: Kunio-tachi no Banka.

New PCB day is best day.

Here I have Arika’s first installment into the Tetris Grand Master series. I love how each iteration feels worth it to play even today and don’t really feel obsolete, they did built a strong foundation with the first one. Though perhaps some might disagree as there are people that won’t play Tetris without modern day guidelines (hold and preview system, for example, weren’t a thing in ‘98).

This should be a nice palate cleanser between shooting sessions. Hell I might get good enough for some GM rank.

No pics (yet), but I just preordered the RetroBit Limited Edition of Eliminate Down for the MegaDrive/Genesis, up to preorder at Strictly Limited Games.

That’s a first to me, I’ve never actually bought a reprint such as this one, but it looked like something neat for a retrocollection (not to mention that I’ll probably never feel brave enough to buy the original game).
Tempted to double it down right away and grab a copy of Mega Turrican Director’s Cut… Any word of advice guys?

Latest gaming pick-ups video is out now. Got some sweet deals at Strictly Limited Games too.
They have a sale on until December 12th.

Got a nice ex-rental for a bargain at a local market. Like, about 1/4 the cost of cart only on ebay. That never happens! I did a bit of clean up on some half ripped stickers but I think I’ll leave the main rental sticker.

Weirdly some places had NTSC games for rental in Australia. They would rent the converter as well.

faded from sitting on that rental shelf, though the back sides and cart are fine

Been a while since I’ve done any collecting but a coworker recently sold off some of his collection. I scored these beauties.

New PCB day is best day.

Since I don’t think I’ll ever afford Darius 1 and 2 boards, having the excellent sequels more than makes up for it. Have had searched for a good condition Japanese board for years, and the price was good on this one. Glad to have two of my favorite Taito shooters side by side.

Getting closer…

I hope to be done tonight. Did the BIOS update post-pic but it was Eagles time so didn’t finish it all up. Need to install Windows, L-Connect 3 to get the top and bottom fans going, crank up the RAM, and then I should be able to start installing some games.

Picked up a few 8bit Micro Computers in a bundle from someone that works at local landfill which contained a Acorn Electron, Atari 520STFM but more importantly a BBC Master 128k:

Whoa, cool!

Wow, that brings back memories of my school days.

Got the Famitsu DX Edition DoDonPachi DaiOuJou Re:Incarnation LE with Hibachi bee crystal stand which is a very nice little extra and changes several different colors when it’s turned on.

that’s really nice! is that Famitsu like the magazine?

different retailers having different items in the CE’s made them hard to decide to get. the screenshots were all really obtuse as well

Good question, I’m honestly not sure how the Famitsu naming applies. Back in 2018/2019 I got the import Darius Cozmic Collection LE and that also had the “Famitsu DX” naming but with both of these I haven’t seen anything that indicates they’re related to Famitsu magazine (unless there’s something obscure in the extras that I’m missing).

I checked out my big game controller holy grail

I can tell you that ace combat 2 and descent ps1 are pristine with this. There’s a certain deadzone but it’s more accurate than I expected.
