Been having a lot of fun with this PlayStation Fist of the North Star game. It’s like an interactive fighting anime 100% built in ugly ass PlayStation polygon glory. Looks fantastic through the PVM filter on the Retrotink x5 Pro
I’ve seen gifs of this game around the internet, the game looks really good!
Another Castlevania: The Adventure shot. The Mister GB core has a drop shadow feature to mimic the DMG LCD which is really cool, it’s more prominent on an actual LCD but you can see it under the candle and eyeball on this CRT shot
That is a very nice filter on the GB emulation.
oh man, that’s beautiful
I have to play this on a CRT whenever this comes out. only issue I have with the GBS Control downscaling is the aspect ratio gets squished unfortunately. it’s fine for shmups because they have resizing options (love playing Progear this way), but for other games not so much
Ah that sucks, a couple of the CRTs I have let you correct 16:9 aspect ratios, you get borders but it’s still pretty playable on larger sets
Final Vendetta - 21" consumer Sony Trinitron
The game looks fun but not sure about some of the art, faces look kind of odd
yeah I saw that trailer in the other thread…the pixel art is kind of weird. looks like they’re going for the SNK look
Yeah definitely looking very SNK with the sprite art. I heard it’s coming to the Neo Geo so I guess we’ll get a 4:3 version!
Wait WHAT!? Got a link?

Hey Dane,
I had a question about palette options with GBI.
Do they exist, or is it straight saturation, similar to the IPS screen mods?
I’m trying to find the best way of getting GBC amd GBA up on my 15khz screens.
It’s looking like there’s more options with mister, but that’s a fair bit more expensive than a cube + gbp. Plus I’ve never had a cube set up.
Thank you.
This info must be buried in the documentation somewhere, but I couldn’t find it easily.
I think colour accuracy is just as important as integer scaling and refresh rate.
Good to know the GBP has these options as well.
Totally, I hope those GBA IPS mods eventually get some sort of colour LUT support (alongside a pixel grid overlay if possible), personally don’t like how garish GBA games look on them
Games Express CD Card choose screen babe.

Got Clockwork Aquario recently and I found that it has probably the most robust scankine filter I’ve ever seen. Only played handheld but it looked really nice. Was planning to play this on the CRT, but I don’t think that’s really necessary now. Wish this was the standard for retro games:
Got any shots of the end result?
Took some quick shots of the various masks. There’s so much to tweak and it doesn’t look as great as it does from sitting distance as it does up close (it looks really good in handheld mode though!).
Bonus: Another Inin published game I picked up yesterday, The Ninja Saviors, which has a very simple, but very good looking scanline filter (it helps that the game has gorgeous pixel art):
Those all look great
