Nightdive Studios’ newest remaster, PowerSlave: Exhumed, will be released soon.
Man, I loved this game on the Sega Saturn. Apparently, this remaster combines the Saturn and PlayStation versions.

Never played this one. Looks like a really solid remaster. Hard to tell whether they redrew enemies or just AI upscaled them from originals based on this footage (I’m not familiar with the original).

I think the sprites are upscaled instead of redrawn. At least, that’s what it looks like.
According to a new rating via the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee, City Connection will be bringing RayForce (aka Layer Section / Galactic Attack) to modern consoles.

That’s right. I think the lag was caused by their Saturn emulator not being up to scratch. Since RayForce is an arcade port instead of a Saturn port, I hope such issues won’t be present.
Unfortunately it isn’t an arcade port, it’s emulation of the Saturn version.

Yeah, it’s a bummer. I have the Saturn game. I really wanted those Cotton games and when I heard about that super long lag, I was right out. That’s just no fun. If I can get them for a song sometime down the road, I will try them, but not at full price.

WayForward Games has revealed the release date for the Switch version of River City Girls Zero, a port of the 1994 Japan-only 16-bit beat 'em up: this Valentine’s Day! The game will grace other platforms a while later.
Release date: February 14th (Nintendo Switch), Spring (PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC)

Growing up, and probably still, I never realized how many games were in the franchise. Renegade was the first game my brother bought when he bought an NES and Double Dragon was a favorite among our neighborhood. I played through a fan translation of Shin Nekketsu Kōha: Kunio-tachi no Banka a year ago or so and thought it was pretty good!
