Let us know if you ever find that color in the arcade monitor. I’ve been missing blue for a while in an old Pengo monitor of mine, haven’t found the solution yet.

Will do.

Couple of PC Engine CD games to add to the collection. The true gem is Horror Story on the bottom right.

Game Boy Light which has seen better days.

But thanks to fantastic new aftermarket parts…

It’s now a recreation of the Famitsu limited edition

It’s so beautiful…

Thanks to genuine article owner @speedlolita who tipped me off I’d used the wrong coloured rubber membranes. Now fixed.

Found a local copy of Metroid Dread for only $10 over retail… this thing is massive!

I also picked up a near mint set of vintage Sansui speakers from about 1976. These are the LM-110 models, made in Japan. They sound fantastic and I’m super happy to have them in my setup.

I decided to roll the dice and pick up the Otaku games 10 port Rgb scart auto switch:

I’ll be sure to post my impressions here once it arrives, although I lack the equipment (and the expertise) to give anything other than a surface level analysis - but I personally couldn’t justify the cost of a g-scart and as this outputs RGBs it is perfect for my setup as I can use my existing RCA to BNC cables to plug it directly into my PVM 20L2 and hijack the sync signal for guncon games for PS1 and PS2 without specialist cables.

What I am dreading however is re-wiring my entire setup as I intend to mount this on the back of the monitor, instead of the side like my current setup (old picture but you get the idea, it’s a mess):

Yeah I couldn’t resist. I know RetroRGB was down on an older version over some of the electrical design for non-standard video sources (supergun etc) but as I’ve got no such device I think it looks like a good fit for me. I’m looking forward to having something really clean, and rear mounted on the monitor, because currently my cable management is a bit of an eyesore.

Going to read the story about a boy and his frog

Read a few chapters and its interesting to see the authors take on the original source material. It’s already deviated quite heavily from the nes game by introducing new characters. It’s like an odd mix of the American and Japanese story.

What’s really neat is that apparently the PS1 Blaster Master continues the story from the Worlds of Power novel.

Been a while since I posted new retro pickups so here’s the latest:

Still can’t get over the N64 controller going back in to production!

Couldn’t resist. Hoping it’s not a long wait until we get a BT adapter for real hardware.

A small thriftstore pickup yesterday, but a nice find nonetheless.

New PCB day is BEST DAY.

And getting my hands on such a legendary shooter, and a full kit (I think…) to boot, hell it’s no ordinary day. Pretty stoked about it. Won’t play it tonight since there’s a thunderstorm going. But I’ll be having my fun with it this weekend.

Hooooly crap. Epic pick-up! This one is on my list for sure but I’ll be shocked if I ever come into it. Especially a kit this nice. Wow.

It sure is. Perhaps the last PCB I’ll get this year, well maybe just the last expensive one of 2021. Still would like to get a couple more affordable shooters that I’m itching to play, like Gigawing, Great Mahou, Thunder Dragon.

Man… I got shipping notification on Monday and I’m still waiting for one. Says Monday now. Sigh.
