No worries. I’m just happy to let more people know about it.
I bought it three times.
Did you know that the original Donkey Kong was meant to be a Popeye game? Yes, it’s true but Nintendo couldn’t get the license until later.
Oh, and a new Made in China video.
Rayman was massive or at least in Europe he was. It was the best selling PlayStation game in the UK outselling the likes of GTA and Tomb Raider 1 and 2.
These days everyone knows Rayman but not many people talk about the original game any more. Let’s take a look at all the available versions. I say available because as always the digital only versions are long gone. That’s the DSi and Smartphone versions. Good old digital only releases. Sure it the way forward to making stuff obsolete.
Versions such as the PlayStation classics or virtual console type services don’t count because they’re not ports, just emulated versions of another port.
Two videos today. First up is this week’s battle of the ports
And second are some Super Mario Sport Eggs.
A while back I reviewed the Sky arcade joystick - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=II3SE… That was a massive stick, too big for some people’s homes. Well here we are with something a little smaller yet still delivers that arcade experience and it has more games!!
The Aya Teruha Suspension Bridge extends over the laurel forest area in Kyushu-chuo Sanchi Quasi-National Park, this suspension bridge is one of the largest in the world, at 142 meters high and 250 meters long. It WAS the largest in the world until 2006.
In front of the Teruha Suspension Bridge is the Shoyo Jurin Bunkakan (Laurel Forest Culture Hall), where you can learn about the creatures living in the laurel forest, and the rest of the forest.
On the other side of the suspension bridge is a 2 km nature trail, where you can enjoy a peaceful walk in the woods for around 40 minutes.
Keep watching until the end for some nighttime driving.
Game Arts are no longer around but when they were they made some of the most impressive games of their time. This week on Battle of the Ports we’ll take a look at Silpheed.
In spite of it using FMV video, which some might consider to be not ideal (I don’t), the MCD version of Silpheed remains a showpiece title for the system. The game is still displaying great, smooth polys, great effects, and an amazing PCM soundtrack with awesome samples.
Will play again later on on my MegaSD.
Thanks again, Mark. Your work ethic is astounding.
I think before we knew Silpheed was using FMV for the backgrounds it was an amazing game. But even now when we know how it was done I still think its amazing. The use of FMV was such a great idea to allow the system to produce an amazing visual feast. Oh and yeah, the PCM audio is amazing.
You guys have been asking for this every time I post a Made in China video. Finally it’s here, the GPD XD Plus.
This week we are taking a look at a game i enjoyed as a child but had completely forgotten about it until recently. That game is simply titled, Bruce Lee.
In the last video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zt-Bv… We took a look at the stock GPD XD Plus. In this video we take a look at the system running emulators that were installed after purchase. Can these made a difference to the reasonable quality of the stock system? You bet they can.
The Japanese Mega Drive Mini Accessories set comes with a very nice surprise!!
Great video, as always.
This game doesn’t get enough credit anymore for how groundbreaking it was for martial arts platformers. Having grown up with the C64 version, I found most of the other ports disappointingly slow and sluggish.
It’s too bad the homebrew SMS version isn’t the full game. The remade graphics are quite nice.
I didn’t even know there was a Master System version until viewers of this video pointed it out.
Sorry guys, I forgot to add the Atari Lynx version. But not to worry, there’s still 12 versions to see.
Also, gameplay footage from the all new Darius Port to the Mega Drive.
Someone mentioned this device in the comments of the GPD video so I just had to check it out. The RG-300 is pretty impressive for the price.
Today is a classic Data East puzzle games that didn’t really find a large following until the second game released on the Neo Geo.
Magical Drop.
A series of games I loved until they ruined it with sexual overtones of the last gen games. Here is the third Parodius game, Gokujyou Parodius.
